Liechtenstein is a small double landlocked European country, with a population of 34,000. The tiny principality is in the Alps, situated between Switzerland and Austria. The capital is Vaduz. The official language German, while the inhabitants speak an Alemannic German dialect of German. This is interesting as this small country does not share a border with Germany.
Liechtenstein is an important international financial center and tax haven, and the world's largest producer of false teeth.
Liechtenstein has produced a number of world-class downhill skiers, and (due to its small population) has won more Olympic medals per head than any other nation.
