Help:Lists

Lists are HTML constructs which are adapted in Wiki syntax thusly:

A bulleted (unordered) list is created by starting every newline (i.e. following a Return) with an asterisk (*):

* firstline

* second line

* third line </nowiki>
produces:

• firstline
• second line
• third line

You can indent further:

* firstline

** second line

*** third line

* back in with the fourth line

** fifth line

* And back in with the sixth line </nowiki>
producing:

• firstline
  • second line
  • third line
• back in with the fourth line
  • fifth line
• And back in with the sixth line

Numbered (ordered) lists use the same procedure but with pound (hash) marks:

# firstline

# second line

# third line </nowiki>
produces:

1. firstline
2. second line
3. third line

You can indent further:

# firstline

## second line

### third line

# back in with the fourth line

## fifth line

# and back in with the sixth line </nowiki>
producing:

1. firstline
   1. second line
   2. third line
2. back in with the fourth line
   1. fifth line
3. And back in with the sixth line

The remaining type of list is a definition list, it uses semicolons (;) and colons (:):

;Scurvy:a disease caused by lack of vitamin C

produces:

Scurvy

a disease caused by lack of vitamin C

Note: this automatically bolds the wording before the colon and return/indents the wording after.
