Scorpions are very similar to spiders, but are generally considered to have been created separately during Genesis based on the Biblical account due to some key features, such as their pincers and venomous tail. Before the Fall the tail would not have been venomous, but would likely have served some useful function, such as containing digestive juices for use on various fruits.

While of course, in more scientifically accurate tests, the scorpion has been around for a very long time, but no evidence of any "genesis" that may have created it was found. It is widely agreed to have evolved from an underwater creature of some sort.
