Before eventually conceding the 2004 election, there were initial reports that Kerry may have wanted to challenge the voting results in the hotly contested - and ultimately pivotal - swing state of Ohio where Bush was shown to have clearly been winning. Deliberations in the Kerry camp ran out through the night as to what decision would be made, but early the next morning Kerry emerged to concede defeat.

His teary and emotional concession speech demonstrated a lack of quality in character that the voters of America had been looking for during the 2004 presidential campaign season. America could only look on in horror and shock as this man that had spent nearly a year fighting through allegations of lying about his military service, where his wife was from and whether or not he had had collagen injections performed on his originally very rotund and craggy face got up to a pulpit and managed to destroy the shreds of trust the remaining fragmented parts of the American political consciousness had left in him. America wanted a strong and moral leader, not one capable of displaying an unfortunate tie to feelings and regret. In the days following the certification of America's electoral votes, every person in America (and over time: nearly every other person on the planet) came to realize that there was a man of quality still residing in the White House, the hot seat of the Free World, and that he had defeated a very a sly and crafty evil in the Kerry/Edwards campaign. America's partisan rancor quickly and neatly subsided into to the peaceful and harmonious society that stands today within a matter of days. Perhaps America should thankful that the John Kerry's of the world are out there: not only as tests of faith, but as reminders that evil really does exist.

It should be not be taken for granted that this man will never able to stand foot in the oval office, except of course when he needs to do so for pressing senatorial business.
