-::Andy, there's been some discussion about the articles you mentioned. A category existed prior to my work called "articles proposed for deletion," and I've been adding my suggestions there. I've tried to refrain from political or emotional decisions, sticking instead to articles that seem pointless or hopelessly mangled.

-I believe that articles (other than proper nouns) should be in lower case, as it makes for easier linking.  The same benefit doesn't apply for categories, but for consistency with article names, I'd go for lower case.
-As far as plural vs. singular goes, I've wondered about this myself.  What you could do is have a look on Wikipedia, not to see what they do, but to find where they've (probably) discussed this issue there and see what the pro and con reasons are.
