Antitrust law consists of federal and state rules to maintain competition and prevent or limit monopolies.
The major antitrust laws are the Sherman Antitrust Act (1890), the Clayton Antitrust Act (1914), the Federal Trade Commission Act (1914) and the Robinson-Patman Act (1936).
