Conservative

A conservative is someone who assumes that there is an ideal truth to which we must all submit in every aspect of life and also believes that he or she has access to that truth and that his or her interpretation of that truth has the same value as that ideal truth. Thus a conservative adopts a rigid position on any matter about which he or she believes reflects the ideal truth and does not accept that there should be any dialog about it (the province of liberals). The conservative thus believes in his or her own ability to objectively understand truth with no influence from his or her upbringing, cultural values, and so forth. Thus the conservative labels as "reason" what is in reality subjective cultural conditioning.
