John Gilbert "Jack" Layton (born July 18, 1950) is a socialist and current leader of Canada's New Democratic Party.
In 2006, he called for the return of Canadian troops from Afghanistan. In January 2007, Jack Layton called for a federal ban on ATM fees.
He has also called for the nationalization of all natural resources and a national pharmacuetical plan. His party only has a mere 29 seats out of 300, so most of his opinions are tossed aside.
