Stegosaurus (Greek: στέγος stegos, and σαῦρος sauros; "roof lizard") was a genus of dinosaurs[1] characterized by large, flat bony plates along its back and four spikes at the end of its tail (also called "thagomizers"). Stegosaurus had the smallest brain size of any dinosaur, measuring no larger than a walnut. It was once thought that Stegosaurus had a second brain in its hip.
