The Assault on Reason is a political book [1] by Al Gore which he denies is political. [2] In the book, Gore accuses President Bush of having an unprincipled hunger for power.

Gore also makes one very good point, which will be appreciated by conservatives who distrust the media elite:
- Television not only creates a dynamic that runs contrary to Thomas Jefferson's desire for a "well-informed citizenry" but puts viewers in a "quasi-hypnotic state" that "partially immobilizes" them and allows unreasoned communicators to sell false bills of goods.
