Leverett A. Saltonstall (September 1, 1892 – June 17, 1979) was a Republican from Massachusetts who served as a U.S. senator for the state from 1945 to 1967. He was previously the state's governor, and the lower legislature's Speaker prior to that.

In 1954, Saltonstall was among twenty-two Senate Republicans who voted for the censure of his Wisconsin colleague Joseph McCarthy,[1] who investigated and exposed communist infiltration of the United States Army and the Department of State.
Saltonstall voted for the Civil Rights Acts of 1957,[2] 1960,[3] 1964,[4] the Voting Rights Act of 1965,[5] and the 24th Amendment to the Constitution.[6]
