The Battle of Sunshine Church was an event during the American Civil War, in which a battle between the Union and Confederate armies was fought, in 1864. The battle, occurring near what is now known as Round Oak, Georgia, was initially enacted by the Union Major General, George Stoneman, the leader of Stoneman's Raid. The result of the battle was a Confederate victory, in which General Stoneman and his army surrendered, and were captured and imprisoned by the Confederate Brigadier General, Alfred Iverson Jr.
