Asian and Christan values
I read an article (and added a link to it), which says that a Japanese writer 100 years ago had asserted a connection between Bushido and Christian virtues (such as chivalry). My question is whether his assertion has any basis, or was he just trying to make ruthless, godless militaristic savages look good. (Or anything between.)
Remember, these are the values that led to the Rape of Nanking, the Comfort women episode, and so on.
Linking Bushido and Christian Chivalry could either be a whitewash of the low ethical standard of historical Japan, or an attempt to say false and derogatory things about the high ethical standard of historical Christian Europe. --Ed Poor Talk 13:20, 6 February 2010 (EST)
