Florence Nightingale (1820 – 13 August 1910) was an English pioneering nurse during the Crimean War.

She was popularly known as "The Lady with the Lamp", and was a pioneer of modern nursing and statistics. She was an early innovator of what are now known as Pie Charts (she used them to breakdown the distribution of patients in her wards by type of disease), and Gannt Charts (she used them to help schedule her nurses.)
