Transcendence is the ability of God to be limitless. The term describes His ability to transcend all the limits of cosmic and physical boundaries. In mathematics transcendence theory is its branch of thought studying transcendental numbers. However inadequate and distractive a description of God it creates, the metaphor here is that the transcendental God lacks natural characteristics as the transcendental number lacks algebraic properties.
