Nonfeasance is the total failure or omission of an employee of a government agency to do his job. More generally, nonfeasance is the failure of an agent to perform a duty required by his principal.
Nonfeasance is different from misfeasance (performing a lawful task improperly), malfeasance (doing something illegal or wrongful), and hypofaesance, failing to perform a task to the utmost of one's ability.
