The Thirty Years War was a conflict lasting from 1618-1648 between the Holy Roman Empire, Sweden, Denmark, France, Savoy, Spain, Holland and numerous Germanic rebellious forces.

It is one of a large number of European Wars, a cycle of conflicts that didn't truly end until the formation of the European Coal and Steel community, later known as the European Union.
