An Obamaphone is a government subsidized smartphone and phone plan initiative created by Barack Hussein Obama under the Lifeline program originally established in 1985 under President Ronald Reagan originally designed to provide telephone access in rural areas. The Obamaphone program is rife with fraud; Obamaphone fraud is as high as 65%. [1] People pretending to be poor, as well as dead people have been receiving these phones, according to a Government Accountability Office report.[2]

In February 2017, President Donald Trump pledged to "rein in" the Obamaphone program, though this has yet to happen in any substantive form, since fraud is still rampant. [3]
