Avril Lavigne (born September 27, 1984) is a popular Canadian pop singer. She released her first album, Let Go, at the age of 17. To date, she has released three albums.
The first single off her third album, entitled "Girlfriend," is possibly her biggest hit, gathering over 60 million views on the website YouTube.
The lyrics of many of the songs off her third album has much more adult language than the first two, putting it into the adult pop genre of music.
In 2006, Avril Lavigne's ballad "Keep Holding On" was used as the main theme song to the hit 'sword and sorcery' fantasy film Eragon.
She also lent her voice to the character Heather the Opossum in the hit animated film Over The Hedge which also starred Bruce Willis, William Shatner and Steve Carell.
