Human cloning is the replication of a human using the DNA in the cells of the donor. Human embryos have been cloned for use in research, but no credible scientist or scientific organisation has attempted to implant a cloned embryo. In the United States and many other countries, implanting a cloned embryo is illegal.
Many of the social and legal ramifications of human cloning have not yet been addressed. For example, would a clone be the child of its donor, or its sibling (genetically, a clone is simply an artificial identical twin)? If these questions cannot be properly answered, there could be severe repercussions for inheritance laws, not to mention the the immorality of it.
