One of the great poets and writers of English deserves more than a dozen or so words referenced by an American desktop "encyclopedia". I don't really know where to start with Dryden. I could come in via Handel (''War, he sung, is toil and trouble, honour but an empty bubble...if the world be worth thy winning think oh think it worth enjoying.'' Handel's use of Dryden's words in "Alexander's Feast" are an early eighteenth century peace song.)

Okay, now it's something like "more than a dozen or so."  I chose to start with his birth, but of course you're welcome to mention Handel, Purcell, or write a brief paean in the introductory text.--[[User:Abcqwe|Abcqwe]] ([[User talk:Abcqwe|talk]]) 18:49, 19 April 2017 (EDT)

One of the great poets and writers of English deserves more than a dozen or so words referenced by an American desktop "encyclopedia". I don't really know where to start with Dryden. I could come in via Handel (War, he sung, is toil and trouble, honour but an empty bubble...if the world be worth thy winning think oh think it worth enjoying. Handel's use of Dryden's words in "Alexander's Feast" are an early eighteenth century peace song.)
