Thomas Szasz (b. April 15, 1920 in Budapest, Hungary) is a psychiatrist who rose to fame after writing his now-signature book The Myth of Mental Illness (1960). Though not theological, his view is similar to that of Orval Hobart Mowrer, Perry London, and William Glasser. In 1969 he and other non-scientologists helped the Church of Scientology found the antipsychiatry organization Citizens Commission on Human Rights.
