Xyzzy is a magic word used in Adventure, the first fantasy software game. The game was originally created by pioneer created by ARPAnet pioneer Will Crowther<ref>He wrote a computer simulation based on the maps, for a Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-10 computer, in FORTRAN. A History of 'Adventure' <ref> and later expanded by Stanford researcher Don Woods in 1980 and ran on the DEC System 10.
