Intelligence Directorate (Dirección de Inteligencia or DI) is the foreign intelligence agency of Cuba. It was established in late 1961.[1]
Structure
DI has six divisions divided into two categories which are the Operational Divisions and the Support Divisions.[1]
- Operational Divisions: The Operational Divisions consists of the political and economic intelligence division, the external counterintelligence division, and the military intelligence division.[1] The political and economic intelligence division is divided into four sections: one for Eastern Europe, one for North America, one for Western Europe, and one for Africa, Asia and Latin America.[1] The external counterintelligence division is responsible for infiltrating foreign intelligence agencies and the surveillance of exiles.[1]
