Incumbant Andrzej Duda

The 2023 Poland election will be held on October 15, 2023, and the NATO war in Ukraine is the leading issue. As polls show a shift against endless support for perpetual war, suddenly the ruling PiS party has changed its position to stem losses to a more conservative party in this election.

The incumbent president since August 6, 2015 has been Andrzej Duda.

The change in position includes:

  • siding with farmers of Poland against grain imports from Ukraine[1]
  • promising to end unlimited support of refugees from Ukraine[2]
  • new statements cautioning against continuation of the war

President Duda said at the opening of the 2023 United Nations General Assembly session, "Ukraine is like a drowning man, it can drag us into the depths".[3]
