Timothy Walter “Tim” Burton (born in Long Beach, California, August 25, 1958) is an internationally renowned film director and animator. His films such as Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland have a surreal and dark atmosphere. He has only been nominated for one Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year.
He is married to English actress Helena Bonham Carter.
