The Labour Party of Israel is the main center-left socialist party in Israel, founded in 1992 as a result of the merger of the old Alignment and Rafi parties. Notable members of the Labour Party include former Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin, Shimon Peres, and Ehud Barak. The party's current leader is Shelly Yachimovich.[1]
In 2015 the Labour Party joined the list Zionist Union received 24 seats in the Knesset.[2]
