The Copenhagen Stock Exchange serves the Danish financial markets to facilitate trading of various instruments, including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, financial futures, and various forms of options.
The CSE features two major indexes: the "C20 Index", which is similar to the Dow Jones Industrial Average in the United States, in that it is a weighted tracking of twenty blue chip stocks; and the KFX Index, which is similar to the US NASDAQ index, tracking high growth companies in modern high technology fields such as telecommunications, medical technologies, and information technology.
The CSE is a member of the OMX Nordic Exchange,[1] which also includes the Stockholm, Helsinki and Iceland exchanges,[2] providing a strong and efficient regional market for trading of securities.
The CSE was established as a limited company in 1996, and joined the OMX group (owned and operated by NASDAQ) in 2003.
The CSE works closely with other exchanges in the region, such as the Stockholm Stock Exchange in cooperation through NOREX.
