Ethiopia is an African country located between Sudan and Somalia. With the exception of the Italian occupation of 1936-1941, Ethiopia is the only African country to never have been colonised by a European imperialist power.(see CIA World Fact Book:[1]) a bloody border dispute with Eritrea following that country's secession in 1991 has claimed many lives, and the country has experienced a number of famines in the past century.
