The '''Basque country''' ([[Basque]]: Euskal Herria; [[Spanish]]: País Vasco; [[French]]: Pays Basque), is a region in northern [[Spain]], and southern [[France]]. The areas of [[Álava]], [[Vizcaya]], [[Guipúzcoa]] and [[Navarra]] are Spanish while the self-identified areas of [[Lapurdi]], [[Basse Navarra]] and [[Soule]] are in France. The term "Euskadi" is used to refer to the Basque Autonomous region, one of the semi-autonomous regions which make up the country of [[Spain]]. The Basques speak a unique language called [[Basque language | Euskara]], which is not related to any other language in the world.
