Johann Strauss (October 25, 1825 , Vienna - June 3, 1899, Vienna) was an Austrian composer known for his waltzes (specially The Blue Danube), polkas and marches.
Strauss is also known as Johann Strauss II (in German: Johann Baptist Strauß (Sohn)) or Johann Strauss the Younger, as he was the son of Johann Strauss I, himself a composer, and brother of Josef Strauss and Eduard Strauss, who were also composers (The Strauss family).
