This article was clearly written by a Big Three fanboy, who has been gone for quite some time now. He only seems to be talking about the second-generation, (the current gen has a 1.8, thanks Edmunds for clarifying), and makes the Prius sound like an overpriced hunk of garbage (even though it's relatively cheap and one of the most reliable cars on the road), but there isn't even anything about the other forms of the Prius: the C, V, and plug-in. I've noticed that most of the car articles on here are either really poorly written or extremely biased. So, should we do something to fix the Prius and other car articles? Thanks. Hummer vs. Prius
The information I added was correct - it might not match your opinion, but there are studies that question the idea the Hummer costs less overall. --SharonW 19:57, 21 August 2011 (EDT)
- It is true that left wing organizations have question the study, but they only questioned a few specific elements. In the end the fact that a Hummer and a Prius have similar environmental costs is a big problem for this car's green credentials. If Hummer costs a little more, it still makes the Prius look bad. --CraigF 20:08, 21 August 2011 (EDT)
What Should Be Done?
This article was clearly written by a Big Three fanboy, who has been gone for quite some time now. He only seems to be talking about the second-generation, (the current gen has a 1.8, thanks Edmunds for clarifying), and makes the Prius sound like an overpriced hunk of garbage (even though it's relatively cheap and one of the most reliable cars on the road), but there isn't even anything about the other forms of the Prius: the C, V, and plug-in. I've noticed that most of the car articles on here are either really poorly written or extremely biased. So, should we do something to fix the Prius and other car articles? Thanks. - This car exists only because of subsidies and government requirements, all justified by the global warming hoax. The most important of these is California's Zero Emission Vehicle and Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle mandates.[1] Consumers buy the Prius to make a statement about how environmentally conscious they are. A Prius costs $22,000 and gets 45 to 48 miles per gallon. The Yaris, which gets 35 to 40 miles per gallon, is $12,000.[2] So despite all the subsidies, this is not the most economical car in the market. PeterKa 21:24, 8 July 2014 (EDT)
