I'm not sure Reid's self-serving quote adds anything. He doesn't say why the polls would be incorrect, and I doubt they were.--Andy Schlafly 01:04, 6 November 2010 (EDT)
:Ok, I'll remove it. To me it shows someone who is confident in winning and concerned about how it's gonna look when he wins and all polling places show differently. It's the opposite of what Reid says, misleading polls have been very accurate in other races. --Jpatt 01:08, 6 November 2010 (EDT)

::I see your point, and I guess it depends on how the quote is read. Some might actually believe Reid and think the polls were somehow wrong, however, and that was my concern. There's no evidence that the polls were wrong, and the discrepancy cries out for an explanation. Thanks for your insights.--Andy Schlafly 01:12, 6 November 2010 (EDT)

Poll uncertainty
Polls can never be perfectly accurate, and while the percentage of uncertainty in the polls may not be enough to account for the full swing, it still may have played a role in at least part of the matter, I think that it would still be worthwhile for this article to mention poll uncertainty, which it does not at all at the moment. I'm only a new editor here though, so I thought that I should put it up for discussion before adding it myself, or possibly a more experienced editor should cover the topic? --JamesCartwright 16:22, 4 December 2010 (EDT)

: You make a valid point, but poll uncertainty is nowhere near 9 points. But please feel free to edit the entry as you think best, and others will improve as appropriate. Thanks for your insights.--Andy Schlafly 17:42, 4 December 2010 (EST)
