The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA), often referred to as the White House press corps, is comprised of members of the media assigned by their employers to cover the President of the United States on a regular basis. They are represented by the White House Correspondents Association, which establishes rules of conduct and acts as a mediator in case of disputes between the government and the media.[1] Many are certifiably fake news organizations.
Often a smaller group of reporters, cameramen, and photographers known as the "White House press pool" is assembled to report back to their colleagues on events where the venue would attendance by the full press corps logistically difficult.

Trump Administration

Relations between the press corps and the Trump Administration have been strained because, President Trump has labelled the press corps as the enemy of the American people, and the press corps has been pressing stories about the connection between President Trump and his campaign staff with Russia. This intensified after the resignation of National Security Advisor Michael Flynn. In addition, a number of Trump Administration officials have been leaking information to the press as a tactic to gain advantage and advance their position within the administration.
In response, on February 24, 2017, the White House Press Office started to exclude a number of national news outlets from private briefings. In response, the White House Correspondence Association issued this statement:
The WHCA board is protesting strongly against how today's gaggle is being handled by the White House. We encourage the organizations that were allowed in to share the material with others in the press corps who were not. The board will be discussing this further with White House staff.[2]
On February 25, 2017, President Trump used Twitter to announce that he will not be attending the Annual White House Correspondence Dinner, where by custom, the President delivers a humorous speech.
Chinese Communist pandemic

ABC News Washington bureau chief and fake news narrative engineer Jonathan Karl was the rotating head of the White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) during the CCP global pandemic. The WHCA has a customary and traditional role of selecting the journalists who will participate in the White House daily briefing. Karl invited a known propagandist for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) into the briefing room to question President Trump.
After OAN's Chanel Rion pointed out that the media in the briefing room were openly peddling Chinese propaganda, they revoked Rion's right to attend White House press briefings and then allowed an actual member of a CCP state-run news channel into the briefing room to spread Beijing's propaganda. Rion also received threatening and intimidating notes on her personal desk at the White House after several briefing events. Senior members of the WHCA confronted Rion in the briefing room with WHCA treasurer Doug Mills cursing at her and the president of the Correspondents Association, Jonathon Karl, harassing her for attending over email.[3]
The Hong Kong/Cayman Islands based Phoenix Media for which Karl's fellow traveller works is actually owned in large part by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and by a former CCP propaganda officer.[4] The White House Correspondents Association (WHCA) tried to censor OAN during the Chinese Communist coronavirus pandemic because of its anti-CCP propaganda war reporting.[5][6]
