The '''3rd Army''' was created towards the end of [[World War I]]. Its first commander was General [[Joseph T. Dickman]]. During WWII though, General [[George Patton]] took command taking [[Sicily]], [[Italy]], [[France]], and most of Western [[Germany]]. This army was fierce and put the final stake into the heart of the German forces.
