Children reaching puberty should know all there is about sex. Not excatly EVERYTHING but only the essentials. Abstinence should always be taught but not the only topic. Abstinence is till the best form of birth control. It only failed once. ;) [[User:GordonF|GordonF]] 19:05, 15 March 2009.

It hurts. ALOT. If abstinence only were taught only, without teaching the kids any knowledge of contraceptives and birth control, if they do decide to give in to their primal "urges", they have no other alternative to keep them from having an unplanned pregnancy. Abstinence is alright, but the kids need to be taught that there are other alternatives if they feel the need to do so. --[[User:MikeEtc|MikeEtc]] 14:25, 2 April 2009 (EDT)

It dosn't just hurt, its unfair to people who have no issue with premartial sex. Shouldnt the kids (and their families) who are ok with it be given access to the information?--[[User:CainR|CainR]] 16:35, 21 January 2010 (EST)

I agree completely, it's hypocritical of us to call liberals out on their omission of things they aren't comfortable with, but we are no better if we can't see that by only teaching abstinence, we are not properly preparing these kids to make their own decisions about sex. Furthermore, it is downright dangerous not to teach about responsible condom use, because a high percentage of abortions occur when kids (and that's the only real way to describe these people) make the foolish mistake of have young, unprotected sex and then find themselves ill-equipt to raise a child.--[[User:Flounder19|Flounder19]] 00:29, 5 August 2010 (EDT)
