"For if we wilfully persist in sin after having received the full knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains in reserve any other sacrifice for sins." - Hebrews 10:26

Persistence is defined as "voluntary continuation of a goal-directed action in spite of obstacles, difficulties, or discouragement" (Peterson and Seligman, 2004, p. 229).[1] The Bible gives many warnings about persisting in sin.[2][3][4] Repentance can turn a person around from persistent destructive habits.

Quote

Persistence is a virtue, as Calvin Coolidge said:

Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.

  • Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
  • Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb.
  • Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
  • First a person will learn to be cruel of necessity, then by habit, and eventually for pleasure.

The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
