(WPVI) -- A Rowan University student is among five suspects arrested in connection with an alleged ISIS-inspired plot to carry out a terrorist attack over Halloween weekend in Michigan.

    On Tuesday, federal authorities announced the arrests of Tomas Kaan Guzel and Milo Sedanet, both 19 and from Montclair, New Jersey.

    (NewsNation) — FBI Director Kash Patel has announced a sixth arrest in connection with an alleged terror plot in Michigan on Halloween weekend.

    Patel stated that an individual from Washington state was arrested for “allegedly providing material support, inspired by ISIS.”

    NBC News reported Saed Ali Mirreh, 19, of Kent, Washington, was arrested Wednesday by the FBI.

    Three men from Michigan and two from New Jersey have also been arrested. Ayob Nasser, 19, was arrested Wednesday and is accused of participating in the planning of a possible attack on LGBTQ+ bars in suburban Detroit.

    Nasser, his brother Mohmed Ali, and Majed Mahmoud are charged with conspiracy to provide material support and resources to a designated terrorist organization and receiving and transferring guns and ammunition for terrorism, according to court documents.

    More than 2,100 arrests made in Memphis under Safe Task Force Ali and Mahmoud were arrested Friday. Investigators say two minors, identified only as Person 1 and Person 2 in court documents, were also involved in the discussions.

    Court documents say Ali and an unnamed juvenile were referenced in third-party conversations on an encrypted communication app, and the “brothers” were allegedly planning to conduct a terror attack in the U.S. on behalf of ISIS. Ali is also accused of purchasing a shotgun, an AR-15-style rifle and multiple firearms accessories, including a device that allows a shooter to increase the rate of fire on a semiautomatic weapon.

    Mahmoud is accused of purchasing 1,600 rounds of ammunition to be used in AR-15-style rifles during the attack, according to the documents. The complaint accuses Ali and Mahmoud of scouting locations for an attack in Ferndale, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit, and appeared to set the date for the attack for Halloween.

    In New Jersey, authorities said Tomas Kaan Jimenez-Guzal, 19, and Milo Sedarat were taken into custody. Records revealed Sedarat is the son of Roger Sedarat, an award-winning Iranian-American poet and professor.

    Officials said Jiminez-Guzal had talked about wanting to train with the Islamic State terrorist group and had planned to fly to Turkey before attempting to go to Syria.

    Milo Sedarat, a privileged teen from affluent Montclair, New Jersey, was arrested at the $1.2 million home of his parents Tuesday morning after espousing grotesque fantasies about murdering Jews, including calling for “mass executions” and boasting… Via direct messages and social media, Sedarat, 19, and another unidentified man traded sickening antisemitic chats, according to the complaint.

    “I can’t wait for the day I get to execute like 10 yahood,” he said, using what investigators say is an Arabic term for Jewish people.
