Duval County is a county in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Florida. As of July 2022, the population was 1,016,536, up from 864,263 in 2010. It is Florida's sixth-most populous county. Its county seat is the city of Jacksonville; the two operate as a consolidated city-county (although four cities in the county are not part of the consolidation, each one has an individual seat on the combined city-county council). The county named after William Pope Duval, Governor of Florida Territory from 1822 to 1834. The county is considered a bellwether county, notwithstanding the presence of a large Naval presence in Jacksonville and the surrounding area. Trump won this county in 2016 and 2024.
