The Act to Protect the Commerce of the United States and Punish the Crime of Piracy was an act of Congress passed in 1819 with an amendment in 1820. The law declared slavery an act of piracy, punishable by death.

Slave trader Nathaniel Gordon was the last person to receive the punishment of execution for piracy in the United States, under this act.
