It's my understanding that a grizzly is a brown bear, albeit, a very aggressive type. Learn together 00:50, 21 December 2007 (EST)

Smokey Bear

Smokey Bear was a black bear cub that was injured in a New Mexico forest fire [1] in 1950. He was rescued by a rancher, cared for, and eventually lived his life in Washington D.C.'s zoo. The Smokey Bear campaign was created in 1944; they wanted to use the deer from Bambi, but Disney didn't give them enough time, so they chose a bear; they didn't specify what kind of bear until the black bear cub came along in 1950.
