From Conservapedia
The March for Life is an annual event in Washington, D.C. that peacefully commemorates the tragedy of abortion.[1] It began in 1974, on the first anniversary of Roe v. Wade (1973). Also a non-profit organization by the same name, its leader from the outset has been Miss Nellie Gray. Educational workshops are typically held the day before the annual march.
The march has been growing:
| “ | The march drew 20,000 ralliers in its very first year, and since then has been accustomed to hosting a 100,000-strong crowd each year. Last year, a staggering 225,000 pro-lifers joined the effort petitioning the Supreme Court to abolish legalized abortion.[2] | ” |
The program for the 2009 March for Life, which is expected to be the biggest ever, is available.[3]
