The Dalmatian is a dog breed originating from Dalmatia. It is very recognizable by its white fur being peppered with black spots (though brown "liver" spots are also a common spot color). Dalmatians have often been used for hunting, pulling carts, and being companions of firefighters. Due to the success of Walt Disney's 1961 film 101 Dalmatians, the Dalmatian's popularity has gone up.
