V. J. Jerome

V. J. Jerome was an American and longtime member of the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA). V. J. Jerome also worked for Soviet Intelligence in the 1930s and 1940s. Jerome's job primarily involved in Communist Party work among "intellectuals".
Jerome was an associate editor of the CPUSA's publication Political Affairs and spotted potential recruits into Soviet espionage for Jake Golos network of spies. Jerome is closely linked to British Journalist Cedric Belfrage. In 1953 Jerome was convicted for violations of the Smith Act and sentenced to 3 years at Lewisburg Penitentiary.
