Twistor string theory combines Super String Theory with Twistor theory, which reduces the number of dimensions required by Super String Theory to 4.

"What's rather striking about this twister string approach is that it really is four dimensions," said Penrose. "So my objections (about string theory's extra hidden dimensions) essentially evaporate."
