Tundra

Tundra are the treeless plains of the arctic circle. The soil is a thin coating over permafrost. For most of the year the temperature never gets above freezing, and even during the short summer doesn't rise above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Typical tundra vegetation includes lichens, mosses, and stunted shrubs.
