Top ranking of merchandise exports to Germany (2005): California - $4.3 billion
South Carolina - $2.4 billion
New York - $2.2 billion
Massachusetts - $2.2 billion
Illinois - $1.8 billion

The United States is the third largest exporter of goods to Germany after France and the Netherlands. The United States imports nearly 10% of all German goods.
