Use this template to ask for a citation or reference for a claim in an article. It should be placed immediately after the claim for which a citation is requested.
The template can be used in several related circumstances:
- The claim is accepted as true, but it's felt that a citation would improve the article.
- The claim is accepted as possibly true, but a citation would provide assurance.
- The claim is questionable, and a citation would support that it is true.
This template must not be used to object to claims on ideological grounds. It is also to be used sparingly.
Before using this template, consider whether you can find a suitable reference to include in the article.
