This basic template is solely for the purpose of adding tables in parser functions in some wikitable/infobox templates. Since directly adding pipes in parser functions such as {{#if:}} would automatically separate parameters in the function, directly adding {| to start a table would break the template. Thus, this simple template can be used to successfully resolve the problem. To end the table, use {{userboxbottom}}.
A similar template to this one is {{!}}.
