This whole article, and all its child articles (a very substantial body of data), seems to have been lifted wholesale from Wikipedia.

Is it legitimate or indeed appropriate to include this material in Conservapedia? --Jeremiah4-22 10:39, 14 April 2007 (EDT)

Huh? I am the author of the original Wikipedia Venona series. It has been extensively suppressed, censored, and refuted with obsolete and deprecated sources in Wikipedia. Further, there has been extensive documented, flawed methodological and pseudo-scholarship added to refute not only factual content, but conclusions of scholarly and government researchers, by Wikipedia editors. And there has been documented instances of Wikipedia "scholarly sources" actually changing text of primary source documents related to this material. This is the original, uncensored version here in Conservapedia. RobS 14:02, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
You wrote it all? That's a most impressive accomplishment. It just seemed a rather large body of work to appear here en masse, that's all. Although the history in Wikipedia would seem to indicate contributions from a substantial number of authors over several years - I take it these were all essentially just defacements of your pure, original documents? With that sort of disrespect going on, I can fully understand why you're posting here instead of there now. --Jeremiah4-22 14:50, 14 April 2007 (EDT)
Thank you. Probably about half of it is here; It was about 80%+ complete when I took an early retirement from Wikipedia. There are a few minor edits in spelling from other Wiki contributors, but no substantial edits in text, or for that matter contributions of sources from other editors have been brought from there to here. From first-hand experience, Wikipedia has a "cabal" of editors that focus almost exclusively to "protect" a number of articles regarding Joseph McCarthy and VENONA in an effort to insure that the pro-Communist perspective is maintained. Many of the Wiki articles regarding a biography of one of these subjects or individuals will completely omit any mention of McCarthy and/or Venona. This Wiki-style of censorship will soon sustain serious challenges from authors dedicated to bringing out truth and verifiability in online articles. Scorpio 12:37, 15 June 2007 (EDT)
We may have to begin differentiating between Wikipedia's pro-Stalinist cabals and and Trotskyites. RobS 14:18, 15 June 2007 (EDT)

The Letter H

Is it really true that there is no letter 'H' in the Cyrillic alphabet? And is that why Hoover was spelled Guver in a typewritten message?

I think rather the Cyrillic letter 'H' is pronounced like [N]. So maybe the article should be modified.
